Community Training Programmes

Community Training Centres (CTC’s)
CTC is an independent community-based organisation, catering for the training and employment needs of early school leavers, primarily aged between 16 and 21.  The training is certified leading to recognised awards on the National Framework of Qualifications.    Courses are generally one year in duration, are full-time and lead to major awards on the NFQ at levels 3 and 4.

The Operation of Community Training Workshops is co-funded by the Irish Government, the European Social Fund and the Youth Employment Initiative as part of the ESF Programme for Employability Inclusion and Learning 2014-2020

Local Training Initiative (LTI)

The LTI project-based training and work experience programme  is carried out in the local community and run by local community groups throughout Galway and Roscommon.  The programme is designed for people who are unemployed, primarily those aged 18-35 years who are experiencing difficulty in gaining entry to the labour market due to personal, social or geographic disadvantage.  Literacy difficulties are not a barrier to entry.  LTI’s support many organisations engaged in a wide range of initiatives including genealogy, environmental, heritage, tourism, theatre, sports, and coaching.  Some projects are targeted as specific groups in society.  Training on Local Training Initatives leads to accreditation at levels on the NFQ at Levels 3, 4 and 5.  Courses are full-time and delivered all year round.
