Background to GRETB and Quality Assurance

Galway and Roscommon Education and Training Board (GRETB) was established in 2013. It is an amalgamation of City of Galway VEC, County Galway VEC, County Roscommon VEC and one former SOLAS Training Centre. GRETB provides full-time and part-time education and training provision across forty centres and twenty schools, and one Training Centre in Counties Galway and Roscommon. We also provides standard based apprenticeships and a new Commis Chef Apprenticeship programme.

For information on GRETB’s further education and training provision please click here.

Prior to the amalgamation each of the VECs and the Training Centre operated separate quality assurance processes as agreed with the Further Education and Training Awards Council (FETAC) under the Qualifications (Education and Training) Act 1999. For policies and procedures applied by each centre or school under the legacy agreements please contact the centre or school directly. Contact details
